We met in the Dark…

-A poem

In the dark, in a bar crowded and loud
A stranger, on the dance floor, we vowed
We moved together; bodies entwined
Never speaking, never looking, names left behind

Lost in the rhythm, danced without a care
Two souls drunk, no words to spare
Intentions, what boldness could not say
We danced like no one was watching,

We stumbled out of the bar, into the night, so still
Beneath the stars, side by side towards a desire to fulfill
We don’t speak; our giggles charged with a spark
A feeling of something more, to my place in the dark.

I don’t recall what happened next, but it was sublime
A once a lifetime, an unforgettable time
Did we …? I cannot say, but I remember a feeling
Of a moment forever revealing

A night in the dark, a memory to embrace.
No regrets or chatter; my memory never saw her face,
She left before sunrise, no goodbyes, a mystery
One-night stand, a sublime life memory.
