“Taking a new step, uttering a new word, is what people fear most.” ― F. Dostoevsky

The future of human coexistence with Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the workforce ecosystem is a matter of some concern. Experts predict 47% of American jobs are at high risk of automation by the mid-2030s. By then, according to McKinsey Global Institute, 40 million to 160 million women* worldwide may need to transition between occupations. This sounds apocalyptic for the labor dynamic as we know it. However, according to the World Economic Forum, AI will almost double the creation of jobs that will be displaced.

We are not implying that it will not be a challenge. There is no doubt the potential effects will be significant across occupations, regions, and even demographics. But it remains certain that automation will define the near future of work whether we like it or not.

AI is estimated to contribute with over $15 trillion* to the world economy by 2030. One of the most significant impacts will be in healthcare. We anticipate Automation to be progressively prominent in the care delivery dynamic due to the advanced learning algorithm and the large datasets available thanks to the electronic medical records and wearable health monitors.

Practitioners and technical occupations area expect to have a 33 percent current-task automation potential. Nevertheless, healthcare workers will experience shallow exposure compared to other industries, since only routine tasks are the most vulnerable to automation and artificial intelligence. But the game-changer is here.

In our current way of providing care, patients spend a significant amount of time in the care facility away from the loved ones, which sometimes complicates the recovery process from a psychological standpoint*. AI is opening the door to enhance patients’ experience by pushing more for access to care outside the hospital, where patients can be monitored and receive affordable care in the comfort of their homes.

Isn’t it obvious that It is medieval-like that we continue to cut and open human beings to perform certain surgeries? AI is showing us the new way towards performing less and less invasive complex procedures, which will increase positive outcomes by a wider margin, thereby, enhancing the patient’s recovery experience in a way never seen throughout human history.

When it comes to revenue in healthcare, it is about Revenue Integrity*. With the necessary tools provided by AI to achieve operational efficiency, compliance, and optimal reimbursement, a higher number of clean claims will be executed at a cost-effective rate, translating into a higher Return on Investment (R.O.I) and more revenue flowing into the hospitals. Employment in healthcare is expected to grow in the range of 15 percent by 2030, faster than the average for all occupations in the US.

We are also aware that healthcare presents a challenging environment for work-life balance in America. Our providers and practitioners sometimes forget to take care of themselves in their commitment to taking care of patients. AI and automation will enable us to ease that pressure by simplifying high-volume and repetitive workloads without affecting the pay and the organization’s efficiency.

Exciting news, isn’t it?

It is common knowledge that the idea of change sparks fear into the human mind. But what most people are yet to realize is that we are conceived to adapt and forever change in response to our environment. Are you aware that we get a whole new skin over the body every 2–4 weeks*? “Changes” are the primary drivers of human nature; our civilization would have gone extinct without it. Indeed, AI will challenge and transform us, but It is worth it to trust the process and welcome the machines.
